Acid Running Social Run

Acid Running Social Run

Acid Running made their first trip north of the border to activate their newest collection, 'Pursuit of Suffering', through a scenic 5km Edinburgh social run, in collaboration with SMI and BLANK Training Club.

As far as Sunday social's go, they don't get much better. Over 100 runners turned up for Acid’s first run on Scottish soil. Lots of new - and regular - faces made their way towards Thistle Street for this one (including a few who made a weekend trip over just for the event from different corners of the UK - madness).

The route was slightly different to the usual New Town circuit, as we thought we’d show Acid the sights for their Edinburgh initiation. This seen us leave SMI on Thistle Street and head towards Princes Street, with Edinburgh Castle to the left in all its glory, before heading up Lothian Road. We cut through the Meadows and up the dreaded incline, that is, Middle Meadow Walk (not quite as tough as it is when you’re 9km deep in to a 10km but still a leg-burner nonetheless). We then headed along George IV Bridge before bending down the Mound, offering more fantastic views of the city, before finishing up back at SMI shortly after.

As per there were post-run coffee & pastries supplied by our talented neighbours, The Cobbled Roastery, and a chance to have some Sunday morning social.

A special thanks to Acid Running for making the journey up for this one, especially on a London Marathon weekend, and of course to everyone who came along.

Some shots from the day below - enjoy!
