About Us

SMI is an idea which stemmed from the lack of independent stores currently on the high street in Edinburgh which provide a unique brand offering and wide range of styles including luxury streetwear, versatile outerwear & contemporary clothing staples all under one roof.

The inspiration for creating the business comes from a lifetime passion and obsession for fashion and most recently during a period of working in the fashion industry for one of the UK’s largest luxury fashion houses, where a real love for customer service and retail was discovered. Throughout this time working in fashion the aim was always to make the customer feel like they were important and getting a service they deserve in a comfortable, easy-going environment whilst creating long-lasting relationships.

One of the main features at SMI is providing a relaxed, down-to-earth atmosphere which is based upon getting to know our customers preferences and creating a unique store/customer relationship. We embrace a positive shopping experience for each customer, this is why SMI is different and our customers choose to shop with us rather than the larger, commercial fashion houses.

SMI aims to provide its customers – whether in store or online - a curated selection of brands and silhouettes which will cater to anyone who shops with us. We closely monitor the market for new trends and seasonal colour palettes whilst keeping a selection of classic, contemporary pieces for the everyday wardrobe. Each collection across every season is personally handpicked with each individual customer in mind making sure personally favoured colour palettes, silhouettes and fabrics are covered.
